Jobs that New York Colonies hadThe New York Colony had multiple jobs. The main jobs where printers, clock makers, barbers, tanners, milliners, dyers, menders, and the shipping business.
Farming In New York ColonyFarming in the New York Colony was very popular. They grow things such as beans, squash, peas, okra, pumpkins, peppers, tomatoes, and peanuts. Maize (corn) and later rice were grown in place of wheat and barley.
Home That New York Colony People BuildThe housing in the New York Colony was under Dutch influence. They were built with multicolored bricks, a wide stoop and door step. There doors were split in half so the top could be open when the bottom was still closed.

Daily life in New York ColonyFamilies got there food, clothes, and shelter by raising crop. Also they traded with the Indians for pelts. They had a mix of nationalities, great business and lots of entertainment. Although there where lots of battles and they where brutally violent.
Clothes New York Cony People WoreIn the New York Colony girls wore shifts ( long night gowns), on top of the shift they wore bodice apron over layers of skirts. They would wear caps or cross cloths, and they would only wear shoes when needed. The boys would wear loose shirts under a doublets (lace or button up). The occasionally wore greatcoats, with breeches or pants that end just below the kneecap. They also wore wide brimmed hats and long stockings with shoes.

New York Colony GovernmentIn the New York Colony their local government consist of an elected assembly and a governor that was appointed by the king of England. There was very little self government, and hardly any freedom but when freedom was claimed it didn't last very long. In 1777 they adopted their first state constitution, and it was rewritten several times. The capital was also moved several times before making Albany the permanent capital.
New York Colony EntertainmentIn the New York colony they would entertain themselves by holding contests, playing the fiddle( a violin) and dancing. They also worked together spinning and quilting.
